Geagea: Lebanon will have a president before November 24
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said that Lebanon will have a president before November 24.
“We are still looking for agreement. If we don’t reach one on November 21, we will not reach one on the 22nd,” he said. “However, we will still be open for agreement,” he added.
Geagea said that if an agreement is not reached on November 23, March 14 will elect a president with a simple majority. “This quorum is constitutional,” he declared.
He also accused Syria of obstructing the French initiative over the presidential elections.
Commenting on the Bkirki list of presidential candidates, Geagea said that if an agreement is not reached between Speaker Nabih Berri and MP Saad Hariri, the list should be presented to the parliament in order to elect a president.
